this explosive constriction...

yet,

soft impact, air bag,

bubbles amidst

fray.

mindfire ablaze.

WITHIN ORB

My podcast is about to turn two!

Within Orb will be turning two at NORWAC this weekend! Each episode gets about 220 listens (thank you!) and in sum has clocked over 25,000 all-time downloads… and IDEK how many $$ in book budgets blown; y’all haven’t shared all that with me, yet… sorry, totally not sorry!

I have to admit, I am a bit stunned that Within Orb is still alive and kicking! You’d think a conversation about astrology books would get old after a while. I always ask the same three questions, and yet, my brilliant guests weave entirely fresh tapestries when they fill your ears with their answers. Our conversations are super nutrient-dense! Y’all are some clever wizards!

Even when I started to experience creator fatigue around the 18-month mark, and felt like I was shouting the show into the void, I followed the smart advice of my producer Jen Braun and issued a few “reboot” episodes from earlier cycles to replay some of the better early episodes and give myself a small break and recover my creative spark. And those reruns get just as many listens the second time as when they were new! Whoa.

I get fired up when listeners send me cheeky rattled-fist notes about how big their “to-read” piles are getting, or how they are excited by all these books they never knew about!

Or when people realize that each episode contains a mini-lesson if you listen closely (or in some episodes not so closely, boop!).

Or when people say, “I have no idea what you are talking about most of the time, but I cannot stop listening” and i reassure them that one day, the hermeneutic circle will crack open and their astrology will get a quantum upgrade. (Yes, this conversation happened IRL at CAELi).

I spend a LOT of time around astrology books, so getting to experience that new-to-me feeling vicariously makes me fall in love with the books and the people who love them all over again!

Another colleague pointed out that Within Orb has inadvertently become a piece of oral history… maybe only visible as such in a decade from now. What a lovely reflection!

Every so often a pattern in your natal chart recurs by transit, even though it may not make any direct contact to your natal placements. Often known as “phase angle returns” or “recurrence” or “holographic” transits, pattern returns multiply the possible relevant transits affecting a chart. They can be difficult to track, so come learn how to identify and interpret a relational way of viewing the zodiac that resists seeing planetary behavior solely in terms of aspectual contact. Lecture Description:
