Today’s missive will be more astrological than usual, and this will likely remain so until the reboot of Leaps and Bounds at CAELi in March…
The crisp Aquarius Sun is tangoing with Vesta on her Spanish tile. That’s how I think of degrees of the Zodiac. Tiles, with grout that separates them. Partile. You get the drift.
Vesta, queen of uninterrupted dedication, gets her renewal now, a new synodic cycle, a new wave of dedication.
This occurs in the bounds of Venus, who is in her own bounds now, in Aquarius.
We seek connection, support, renewed focus for what matters most immediately.
Whenever I talk about Vesta, I recall a conversation I had once with Penelope Trunk. “Parenthood,” she said, “is permanent interruption.”
Instantly, the edict barring Roman Vestals from childbearing and rearing became crystal clear. Trying to keep a small human on the planet, and healthy, directly contradicts the work of tending a fire so it doesn’t go out or spread out of control.
Vesta indicates feminine self-focus (versus other-oriented focus); however, with Venus setting the terms, it relates to relating. It relates to tending, to care, to community, to realizing connection or mourning its absence.
Among all the other sexier astrology going on, I want to highlight Vesta’s renewal. Lots of people will bring up Neptune’s ingress, or Mars conjoining Pluto, and leave little Vesta out of the picture, when in fact, as a feminist Sun (another way I think of her; the fire you can and should touch. Sorry, Icarus.), she’s on the planetary podium, too.
Her cazimi recalibrates what we care about for the next 3.5 years, how we will apply ourselves with unwaivering commitment. Her cazimi is why this Mars/Pluto conjunction will bring extra clarity of purpose to so many.
In the spirit of connecting, I want to invite you to three upcoming ways to connect with me, all online, with one in-person option.
Feb 4: Online for Astrology Niagara. They invited me to give a workshop on Advanced Progressions. Sharpen your pencil on this important and astonishingly now-eclipsed set of timing techniques that used to be the bread and butter of learning astrology. This time around, I get to tell you about decoding an untranslatable phrase in the Quran by way of lunar mansions, Sufi mysticism, and progression time scales, while on a boat on the Nile. Yeah, that just happened. So come to the workshop and hear more, and overcome the gap created by solely focusing on ancient astrologies. Save some $$ by registering with the code: JENN2026 [Registration closes Feb. 2, 2026.]
Feb 12: In-person (and online) in Seattle, for WSAA’s monthly lecture. I went out on a limb and proposed to tell the history of astrology in pre-Nazi Germany, and to my surprise, they said yes! So strap in and get your popcorn. I have spent a quarter-century researching this and am thrilled to share my findings. Somehow it became such second knowledge to me that I overlooked including it in my public-facing work. I’m excited that WSAA is taking the leap to let me illuminate our recent past.
Feb 27-Mar 1: Online at CAELi, a weekend intensive lab on locational astrology, featuring primary sources, local space compasses, lots of collaborative inquiry, and a dash of astrological magic. I always laugh that I have an “earth void” in my chart (zero planets in earth signs), and most of my consults are locational, literally pointing out “where on earth!” your chart unfolds. CAELi labs are highly interactive, with a robust attendance rate and lots of freedom to bring yourself into the seminar space. The price is absurdly accessible for what you get, only $108 for the whole weekend, and you get the satisfaction of knowing that every dollar goes towards keeping the world’s coolest astrology library alive and thriving. It’s a win-win for all.
I’d love to see you at any and all of these events. Bring your friends, let’s widen and deepen the circle, and do great astrology together. That’s what I am committing to.
You?
I’ll send your next Bound Report on Feb 1, 2026, when the Sun hits the bounds of Jupiter.

Love the framing of Vesta as the feminist Sun, that reall captures something essential about self-directed care versus the endless outward pull. The permanent interruption insight is brilliant, it explains so much about why maintaining anykind of sustained practice feels impossible sometimes. Excited to see more work on pre-Nazi Germany astrology, that's such an under-explored period.
Would have totally missed the Vesta cazimi if it weren't for this. Thanks for tending the "feminist fire" 🔥 🙏🏾🤗
