Wind ripples into dune folds. Particles, dry waves, flit, glint, you squint. The day equals night now, the absence of light just as present as presence of it. The feel of lack palpable under the simmer of growing days, swelling with bloom and precipitation.
The morning’s omen: a clever about page on a website for a firm by the name of SYZYGY. Obviously an astrologer like me is going to click on that company’s link to see what they’re all about.
The first paragraph cuts to the chase:
Remote collaboration takes coordination. During orientation, every one of SYZYGY’s team members draws a portrait of a coworker—without glancing down at the page or lifting their pen. The results are often hilarious, and occasionally, even pretty accurate. As a whole, the portraits illustrate the good that happens when you trust yourself, your team, and the process.
And then you see the line drawings and it tells you more about them than any photograph ever could. It made me want to do this. Take a pen and line draw someone without lifting it off the page and see what happens.
That’s the sense of things now… drawing linear trajectories without being able to see where your pen is going, and still getting somewhere wildly expressive. And this isn’t just about actually drawing; it’s deeper than that.
It’s also about trusting someone to see you and trusting yourself to see them, translate them, having just met. Literally drawing intimacy at first glance. The freshness allows a noticing that harnesses something fleeting, something that dissipates once emotions and history enter the picture.
Notice the flow of your attention, risk the capture of something you barely know in a form you can barely control. Surprise yourself.
See you again on March 26 at 3:11am PDT.
(Which also happens to be the birthday of American poet Jean Day… go read all her books!)

We had to do this exercise in a holistic leadership class…a lot of laughing, but something is definitely revealed when you just…go. Aries ❤️
