nummulites
a sea of 'rich' sand
the ancients have nothing nice to say about this bound.
(of Mars at the end of Taurus; astrologers squint in Algol and nod).

Over 37 million years ago, this dry expanse was the bottom of an ocean.
what you see here is not just sand, though, it’s coin.
spiralized fossil discs . . . nummulites.
Here’s a pic I took at the whale fossil museum in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Wādī al-Ḥītān:

As we move through the next three days, think on a geological timescale.
What are you making now that could stand the test of time, as these tiny nummulites went from entire communities to speculative currency to a desert of forgotten value crunching under your sandals in the blinding sun… only to be remembered today, as Mars enters Taurus and the Sun enters his bounds at the end of Taurus.

For now, I’ll celebrate that we just crossed 100 paying supporters of CAELi (read more about that here), and now I am aiming for the next 100 with a special twist to be revealed as NORWAC kicks off and my next Bound Report goes out…
If yr local to the PNW, come say hi at the CAELi and ISAR booths at NORWAC.
Stay toasty, friends,
